ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok (No meals)
Upon your arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you will be transferred to your downtown hotel for check-in and your overnight stay.
Day 2: Bangkok (Breakfast)
Today, explore the magnificent Grand Palace, a historic complex that once served as the royal residence and the center of government administration. The architecture, predominantly Thai in style with some European influences, is dazzling with vibrant colors, intricate detailing, and gilded elements. The Grand Palace also houses the revered Wat Phra Kaew, known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This sacred Buddhist temple is home to a remarkable jade statue of the Emerald Buddha. Explore various palaces and halls on the palace grounds, each with its own unique significance.
Day 3: Bangkok – Kanchanaburi (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Start your day with an early morning pick-up from your hotel as you embark on a journey to Kanchanaburi. Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum, dedicated to the history of the railway, followed by a solemn visit to the War Cemetery, the resting place of over 6,000 allied prisoners of war. Experience a long-tailed boat ride on the Kwai River through stunning jungle scenery. After lunch, you’ll be transferred to the Resotel pier for a boat journey to Hellfire Pass Memorial. In the late afternoon, return to your resort for dinner and enjoy a presentation of Mon Dance. You’ll spend the night at River Kwai Jungle Rafts.
Day 4: Kanchanburi – Ayuthaya (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast at your resort, consider an optional visit to a nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village or enjoy an Elephant Riding experience through the bamboo forest. Check out and take a boat transfer to the Resotel pier. After lunch at a local restaurant, embark on a historic ride on the Death Railway Train. Then, continue your journey by vehicle to Ayuthaya for check-in at your overnight accommodation.
Day 5: Ayuthaya – Train (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today, you’ll explore the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand. Discover the rich history and culture of the city as you visit key attractions, including Wat Sri Sanphet, Wat Phananchoeng, and Wat Yai Chaimongkhol. Your tour also includes a visit to Bang-Pa-In, the former Royal Summer Residence, showcasing remarkable Thai architecture. In the evening, board an overnight train for your journey north.
Day 6: Arrival in Chiang Mai (Breakfast, Dinner)
Upon your arrival at Chiang Mai Railway Station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in, allowing some time for your rooms to be prepared. The day is at your leisure for personal activities or optional tours. Later in the evening, enjoy an enchanting visit to the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center, which preserves and promotes the history and culture of northern Thailand. Savor a traditional northern meal and witness a spectacular performance of traditional northern Thai dances. You can also experience genuine folk dances and music by hill-tribe performers from Akha, Hmong, Yao, Lahu, and Lisu communities.
Day 7: Chiang Mai (Breakfast, Lunch)
Head north of Chiang Mai City to visit the Mae Saa elephant camp, nestled in a forested valley. Here, you’ll witness the remarkable skills, intelligence, and strength of the elephants during a demonstration. After lunch, continue your journey to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a temple perched in the mountains, offering breathtaking views. Explore the temple complex, including a magnificent chedi containing partial relics of Lord Buddha. Then, visit the Hmong village of Doi Pui, known for its handicrafts, fabrics, and decorative ornaments.
Day 8: Departure from Chiang Mai (Breakfast)
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
